  • Dengue fever is known as the "fastest spreading mosquito borne disease", and the key role of transmission is mosquitoes, mainly Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, commonly known as "flower mosquitoes". For Aedes mosquitoes, the virus in their bodies is not affected and can carry it for life. Even female Aedes mosquitoes can transmit dengue fever virus to the next generation through eggs.

Countries in tropical and subtropical regions such as Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Southeast Asia are all areas where dengue fever is prevalent. Today, the dengue fever virus spreads to 110 countries worldwide. The World Health Organization has calculated that approximately 390 million people worldwide are infected with dengue fever each year, resulting in approximately 500000 hospitalizations and ultimately around 20000 deaths.

From 2008 to 2018, Lukang exported more than 13,000 tons of Bactivec and Griselesf to many countries in Africa, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia, including Nigeria, Zambia, Guinea, Tanzania, Ghana, Cuba, Argentina, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam to make outstanding contributions to the local control of dengue fever and malaria.
